Blackrock Silver Corp. (TSX-V: BRC | OTC: BKRRF | FSE: AHZ0) is a mining exploration company that has made three discoveries tied to high-grade gold, silver, and lithium in the hea rt of Nevada. Representing the western extension of the Tonopah Silver District, the company’s flagship Tonopah West project consists of 100 patented and 279 unpatented mining claims over 25.5 square kilometres.
BRC is the first group to consolidate and bring modern exploration to the district, picking up where historic miners left off at the onset of the Great Depression. To date, BRC has already established Tonopah West as one of the highest-grade undeveloped silver discoveries in the world, and attracted strategic investment from First Majestic Silver. With another Resource update imminent, the second resource in as many years, BRC aims to demonstrate that they can continue to add high-grade ounces via the drillbit quickly and cheaply on this growing deposit. Though Tonopah is best known for Silver — it’s quickly emerging as the lithium hub of the United States, and, surrounded by some of the largest lithium resources in North America — BRC has also discovered lithium on their Tonopah North project.
BRC also has a bonanza grade gold project, Silver Cloud, which consists of 45 square kilometres and 572 mining claims. A fully-funded 2,000-metre core drill program commenced in June 2023 to follow up on the existing discovery.
Blackrock Silver’s (TSX-V: BRC | OTC: BKRRF | FSE: AHZ0) flagship Tonopah West project has consolidated the western extension of the famed Tonopah Silver District, one of the largest historic high-grade silver districts in the “Silver State” of Nevada. Known as the Queen of the Silver Camps, the district produced 174 million ounces of silver and 1.8 million ounces of gold from 7.4 million tonnes.
Picking up where the historic miners left off — when metals prices tanked at the onset of the Great Depression shuttering the mines in the district — BRC has since drilled over 150,000 metres since 2020, making Tonopah West one of the most active silver exploration projects on the planet. A stope-optimized maiden mineral resource estimate for the project, based on just their first 18 months of drilling, shows 2.975 million tonnes grading 446 g/t silver equivalent for 42.65 million ounces silver equivalent. This makes Tonopah West one of the highest-grade sizable undeveloped silver projects in the world.
Intercepts range from one to 29 metres in thickness, with grades of up to 6,526 g/t silver equivalent (up to 37 g/t gold and 2,740 g/t silver). Initial metallurgical test work has also shown world-class recovery values of 95% for gold and 87% for silver, on average. The project remains open to the northwest, the south, and at depth, and the company is on track to deliver an updated MRE in October 2023 to include 2022 drilling data.
BRC is actively following up on a brand new bonanza grade gold discovery on their Silver Cloud project. Located in the richest gold mining area in North America, Silver Cloud consists of a large land package of over 45 square kilometres that sits on the Northern Nevada Rift, on trend of two of Nevada’s highest-grade historic gold mines, Midas and Hollister, both now owned by Hecla.
Blackrock Silver Corp. (TSX-V: BRC | OTC: BKRRF | FSE: AHZ0) completed a three core drill hole program in November 2022 and this led to Nevada’s newest bonanza grade discovery as one drill hole intersected 70 g/t gold (2.0 opt) and 600 g/t silver (17.68 opt) over 1.5 metres in the Northwest Canyon area. Drilling commenced in June for a 2,000-metre core drill program that aims to establish 500 metres of strike potential on this new discovery, with all assays pending.
The Tonopah North lithium discovery sits adjacent to Tonopah West and to the southeast of American Lithium’s TLC project. Consisting of 260 unpatented mining claims that sit on 20 square kilometres, the project sits under an option earn-in agreement with Tearlach Resources that includes cumulative exploration expenditures of US $15 million and the delivery of a feasibility study within five years to establish a 70/30 joint venture on lithium minerals.
Tearlach recently completed an 11-core drill hole program with initial assay results from the first eight holes confirming discovery with core. Twinned holes delivered grades 40–85% higher than discovery holes, while step-out drilling has delivered grades up to 1,660 ppm lithium across an area of over 7.2 square kilometres. Tonopah North shows similar potential to American Lithium’s TLC deposit, which has a maiden preliminary economic assessment outlining a positive investment base case after-tax NPV (8%) of US $3.26 billion and an after-tax IRR of 27.5 %.
